Recognition of a Customer's Expectation of Privacy
At Bank of Indiana, we believe the confidentiality and protection of customer information is one of our fundamental responsibilities. While information is critical to providing quality service, we recognize that one of our most important assets is our customers' trust. Thus, the safekeeping of customer information is a priority for Bank of Indiana.
Customer Benefits of Bank's Information Management Practices
Information about consumers is accumulated from a variety of sources. Some information is provided to Bank of Indiana directly by customers themselves. The data is used by Bank of Indiana as a function of providing a product or service to a customer. We will limit the use and collection of information about our customers to that which is necessary to administer our business, provide superior service, and offer opportunities that we think will be of interest to customers. This means that we will use information to identify and mitigate potential risks to Bank of Indiana and our customers.
Maintenance of Accurate Information
We continually strive to maintain complete, accurate and current information about our customers and their accounts, in keeping with reasonable commercial standards. We also pledge to respond to requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
Limitations on Employee Access to Information
Each Bank of Indiana employee is required to follow our banks' "Financial Privacy Code of Conduct," which states that all customer information is considered private and privileged and is to be used solely for the purpose of providing our customers with the finest service available.
Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures
Bank of Indiana is committed to the security of our customers’ financial and personal information. All of our operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects account information from being accessed by third parties. We maintain and grant access to customer information only in accordance with our internal security standards.
Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information
Bank of Indiana will not reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties outside our affiliated banks and companies for their independent use unless: 1) The customer requests or authorizes it; 2) The information is used to help complete a transaction initiated by the customer; 3) The information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; 4) The information is provided to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing efforts; or 5) The disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required (e.g. subpoena, investigation of fraudulent activity, request by regulator, etc.). We do not provide account or personal information to non-bank companies for the purpose of independent telemarketing of any non-financial products or services of those companies.
